An ancient and mineral-rich plant, the nettle (Urtica) belongs to those so-called "simple" plants that are being rediscovered with a fresh perspective. In the Auvergne region, it accompanies the cold seasons: it stimulates circulation, invigorates tissues, and brings strength and inner warmth. In some traditions, a bunch of nettles was thrown into the fire on December nights to protect the home and ensure a bright winter.

With this collection, Apoticari puts nettle back at the center: a strong, rooted, living plant that inspires a simple and deeply herbalist care gesture.

To embody the power of the nettle, Apoticari invited artist Marie-Victoire de Bascher, whose work blends drawing, craftsmanship, and symbolism. She conceived an exclusive motif: a stylized, vibrant nettle leaf, inhabited by a protective eye. A botanical ex-voto, designed as a talisman for winter. Her drawing captures the leaf's tension, its nervous texture, and its protective strength.

What is its composition?

Handmade in Puy-en-Velay, the Nettle candle is poured from natural vegetable wax, equipped with an organic cotton wick and scented with a botanical accord inspired by winter nettle.
What is its fragrance?

It unfolds intense vegetal notes, damp nuances and dark roots, a deep herbaceous trail that evokes winter undergrowth and the silent strength of the plant.
How long does the candle last?

Approximately 60 hours. Its slow and even combustion ensures a stable diffusion of the fragrance.
How to use it properly?

When using for the first time, allow the wax to melt to the rim of the glass to prevent dips. Before each use, trim the wick to 0.5 cm for a clean flame and optimal combustion.
Is it natural and safe?

Yes. This candle is handcrafted, paraffin-free, dye-free, and made with vegetable wax and natural fragrances. For safe burning, ventilate the room regularly, avoid confined spaces, and never burn the candle for more than 2 to 3 hours at a time. Keep the flame steady and away from drafts.
